Drain transmission oil

 Collect automatic transmission fluid in suitable container.

Pry out radial shaft sealing ring (5) using a suitable tool

 Do not damage transmission housing.

 Installation: Pack space between dust lip and sealing lip with long-life grease.
Drive in new radial shaft sealing ring until flush with drift .

Detach power takeoff bearing cap (17) and detach paper gasket (16).

Only with code N05 and N07 (Power takeoff).

 Installation: If the power takeoff output shaft, the bearings of the output shaft or the bearing cap were replaced: 

Only with code N07 (PTO).

 Installation: Pack space between dust lip and sealing lip with long-life grease.
Drive in new radial shaft sealing ring until flush with drift.

Remove power takeoff output shaft (14) together with spacer ring (15)

Only with code N07 (Power takeoff)

 Installation: Coat tapered roller bearing of output shaft with long-life grease.

Remove PTO shift cylinder (25)

Only with code N07 (PTO).

 Installation: Replace paper gasket (26) and micro-encapsulated bolts (24). Recut threaded holes in transmission housing.

Remove gear shift dome (9)n

 Installation: Install new micro-encapsulated bolts (10). Recut threaded holes in transmission housing.

Remove sleeve (30) and washer (29) of shift lock of power takeoff

Only with code N05 and N07 (Power takeoff).

Remove spring (31)

Only with code N05 and N07 (Power takeoff).

 Installation: The slanted spring end must be on the lock pawl. The straight spring end must be supported by the housing wall.

Remove lock pawl (28)

Only with code N05 and N07 (Power takeoff).

Unscrew reverse idler shaft mounting bolts (12)



Fit required attachment to press-in tool depending on the transmission

 Press-in tool

 Fit the small attachment for transmission 711.605.

Fit the large attachment for transmission 711.620/621

Place transmission on press-in tool

Remove bolts (11) on housing flange and remove centrifugal weight (13)



Lift front section of transmission housing (1) off rear section of transmission housing (2)

 Do not insert screwdriver between housing halves.

 Gently separate halves of transmission housing from each other with light blows from a plastic mallet

 Installation: Pay attention to alignment pins. Clean sealing surface on both housing halves and coat with sealant.

Remove main shaft and countershaft

Assemble in the reverse order

Only if transmission 711.605 fitted

 Installation: Insert cylindrical roller bearing of countershaft with long-life grease into roller sleeve in front section of transmission housing (note installation position).
