Work procedure completely modified

 	Remove/install
	Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts		AH00.00-N-0001-01A
1	Set engine control and permanent brake operating lever to position "0"
2	Switch off ignition
3	Remove step plate over transmission	 Only on semitrailer/tractor combinations.
4	Only drain coolant at the radiator	 Collect coolant in clean container.
		 Installation: Pour in coolant: 
		Engine 541.9, 542.9	AR20.00-W-1142A
		Engine 902.9, 926.9	AR20.00-W-1142J
		Engine 906.9	AR20.00-W-1142C
5	Remove coolant hoses (8)	 Collect coolant in clean container.
6	Detach coolant pipes from brackets and tie to longitudinal frame member
7	Drain transmission oil
	Manual transmission - oil change		AP26.00-W-2601A
8	Detach compressed air line connector (6) from retarder (1)	With compressed-air connection system "VOSS 230"	AR42.10-W-0900A
		With "VOSS 232" or "SCHÄFER SDF" compressed air connection system	AR42.10-W-0900C
9	Detach Voith retarder (X97) connector
10	Detach propeller shaft from transmission and place to one side	 On vehicles with power take-off, complete propeller shaft must be removed.	AR41.10-W-0050A
11	Remove collar bolt (3)	Installation: Fit new collar bolt (3). Coat thread of new collar bolt (3) with thread locking compound.	*BR00.45-Z-1008-02A

12	Unscrew collar nuts (2).	Installation: Fit new collar nuts (2).	*BR00.45-Z-1008-02A

13	Detach retarder (1) from transmission	Installation: Apply light coating of grease to new O-ring (5) and install free of twists.	*BR00.45-Z-1062-06A
		Check threaded pin (4) on transmission for tight seating, replace if necessary.
		Coat thread of threaded pin (4) with thread locking compound and position retarder (1) on transmission.	*BR00.45-Z-1008-02A
