Requirements for using "Mercedes me connect" services
To use "Mercedes me connect" services, the customer has to register beforehand at www.mercedes.me and accept the terms and conditions of use. Further information is available here on the contents of the individually available "Mercedes me connect" services.
Important information on the activation process: As soon as the vehicle is connected to the relevant customer account and the individual terms and conditions of use have been accepted, the "Mercedes me connect" services are automatically activated. The following points should be noted here:
The transport mode in the vehicle should be deactivated.
The communications module must be in the ready status.
To ensure that this is the case, vehicles with code O6U (Mercedes me connect Basic Services) the vehicle must not be parked for longer than 4 days without an "Ignition ON". For vehicles with code 360 (HERMES UMTS) or code 362 (HERMES LTE) this time period is 30 days.
The vehicle should be outdoors during the activation procedure to ensure that GSM/GPS- reception is good. Successful activation can be positively influenced by "switching on the ignition".
The vehicle should be driven for a short distance after successful activation. This is to ensure that the data transfer for displaying the vehicle data (e.g. kilometer reading, fuel level) to the "Mercedes me" Portal is triggered.
Current experience has shown that the activation process can have differing durations (lasting from 30 minutes to 3 days).
