Due to recent events, we would like to notify you that customer complaints referring to inability to operate the radio and navigation unit (A2/56) are on the increase.
The radio and navigation unit (A2/56) stick at the last display or they stop responding.
When operating the radio and navigation unit (A2/56), the software may suffer from malfunctions when buttons are pressed too quickly or frequently or when one moves to and fro in the menu. Here, the radio and navigation unit (A2/56) can then no longer be operated, it sticks at the last display or it fails to respond to any user entries.
In a first step, this problem can be rectified by restarting the radio and navigation unit (A2/56). This restart can be initiated by pressing the On/Off button for a lengthy period (approx. 5 s). The customer settings are retained here. This procedure can be communicated to the customer as a preventive measure to avoid any need to visit a MercedesBenz partner.
If the problem could not be rectified by a regular restart of the radio and navigation unit (A2/56), please proceed according to the instructions in XENTRY TIPS (Group 82.60).
