Open maintenance flap

Danger!

Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Remove fill level and SCR AdBlue temperature combination sensor (B117) at AdBlue tank (7)

 Only if AdBlue container (7) is replaced.

Disconnect electrical connector (2) and pull electrical line (1) for fill level and SCR AdBlue temperature combination sensor (B117) out of longitudinal member

Open insulating tubing (12) in the area of the line fittings for AdBlue (15, 17) to a length of about 10 cm and push back.



Open insulating tubing (12) in the area of the line fittings for coolant (14, 16) to a length of about 10 cm and push back.



Remove coolant lines at the line fittings for coolant (14, 16)

 Mark coolant lines and line fittings for coolant (14, 16).

Collect coolant in clean container.

 Installation: Replace O-ring, note markings.

The caught coolant can be poured back into coolant circuit after installing AdBlue container (7).

 Danger!

Risk of burn injuries and scalding when working at AdBlue lines and the components attached to them. Risk of injury to skin and eyes when handling AdBlue. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing AdBlue

Only pour AdBlue into suitable containers. Wait until the pressure is released before starting any work on the exhaust aftertreatment system.

Remove AdBlue lines on line fittings for AdBlue (15, 17)

 Remove AdBlue lines on line fittings for AdBlue (15, 17).

 Installation: Replace O-rings, note markings.

Empty AdBlue tank (7)

 Do not reuse used AdBlue since contaminated AdBlue can lead to damage in exhaust aftertreatment system.

Unscrew nuts (10), fold up tensioning straps (8) and remove AdBlue container (7) from its supports (9)

 Installation: Ensure correct positioning of the anti-chafe straps and on the supports (9) and observe the tensioning straps (8).



Install in the reverse order

 Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Bleed cooling system

 Run engine for about 1 minute at varying rotational speeds.

Top off coolant constantly to the bottom edge of the filler neck.



Engine cooling system - check fluid level, adjust to correct level. Inspect anticorrosion/antifreeze protection, adjust to correct concentration
