Warning | Risk of injury caused by body parts being pinched or crushed as cab is tilted | Ensure that no one is within the tilting range of the cab as it is being tilted. Always tilt the cab all the way to the end position and secure it with the safety strut.
2 | Tilt cab | ||
Topical note | Notes on tilting the cab
Installation: Do not tilt back the cab until the soundproofing has been installed.
3 | Remove soundproofing on top right of frame | Installation: Only install soundproofing after the leak test.
Danger | Risk of fire/risk of explosion due to short circuit and escaping oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of (burn) injury caused by caustic burns to eyes, skin and mucous membranes from battery electrolyte/mist, short circuit and arcing. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing battery electrolyte or absorption of lead through the skin or body orifices. Risk of death due to voltage U >= 30 V AC and U >= 60 V DC. | No fires, sparks, open flames, or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing, and glasses. Pour battery acid only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.
4 | Disconnect ground line from battery
Topical note | Notes on battery
5 | Remove the air intake hose (2) from the vent line and turbobrake (14) and remove the air intake pipe (4) with air intake hose (2). | Plug openings.
Installation: Clean the sealing surfaces, check the condition of the air intake hose (2) and clamps and replace is necessary.

12 | Remove the compressed-air line (18) from the actuating cylinder (19).
13 | Remove the soundproofing from the bottom of the frame.
14 | Remove the oil feed line (15) from the turbobrake (14) and cylinder crankcase. | Catch any escaping engine oil and seal the holes.
Installation: Clean sealing surfaces and replace sealing rings. Before attaching the oil feed line (15), fill the bearing housing for the turbobrake (14) with engine oil through the oil inlet hole. Rotate ATL shaft by hand during this step so that bearing points are provided with a film of oil.

19 | Install in the reverse order
20 | Check the engine oil level using an oil dipstick or on the display and top up if necessary.
Notes on engine oil | |||
Note the oil quality set in the maintenance system / Specifications for Service Products.
Warning | Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. | Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
21 | Start the engine. With the engine running at idle speed, check the oil pressure display and perform an engine test run. | Do not rev up engine before oil pressure is indicated. After approx. 10 s the oil pressure gage must display the oil pressure.
