Mount assembly stand (30) onto rear part of transmission housing (10)

Install tapered roller bearing outer race (38) for the transmission main shaft (9) into the rear part of the transmission housing (10)



Install tapered roller bearing outer race (39) for the countershaft (20) into the rear part of the transmission housing (10)



Insert the transmission main shaft (9) and shift rails with shift forks (8) into the rear part with transmission housing (10)

 When doing so, the holding device (27) must be secured to the transmission main shaft (9) and shift rails with shift forks (8) by means of the cable ties (28, 29).



Insert the reverse gear (18) with needle bearing (17) into the rear part of the transmission housing (10) such that the countershaft (20) can be installed

Screw in bolt of assembly stand (30) and push transmission main shaft (9) out far enough until the countershaft (20) can be lifted out



Screw bolt M630 (31) in on face of reverse gear shaft (19) and insert reverse gear shaft (19)

Turn reverse gear shaft (19), then align bore with bolt (15) and screw in bolt (15) tightly

 Remove bolt M630 (31).



Cut and remove cable ties (28, 29) on transmission main shaft (9) and the shift rails with shift forks (8)

Remove 5th/6th gear shift fork (7) with the sliding blocks (6)

 Pay attention to direction of installation of sliding blocks (6). The rounded sides of the sliding blocks (6) must face towards the shift fork mounting.

Fit drive shaft (4) onto transmission main shaft (9)

Install tapered roller bearing outer race (32) without shims (33) for transmission main shaft (9) into the front part of the transmission housing (1)



Install tapered roller bearing outer race (34) without shims (35) for the countershaft (20) into the front part of the transmission housing (1)



Mount front section of transmission housing (1) on rear section of transmission housing (10) without sealing compound

 Securely bolt the front section of the transmission housing (1) to the circumference of the rear section of the transmission housing (10) using six bolts (16).



Determine the shims (35) for the countershaft (20)

Determine the shims (33) for the transmission main shaft (9)

Detach front part of transmission housing (1) from rear part of transmission housing (10)

Remove tapered roller bearing outer races (32, 34) from front part of transmission housing (1)



Install shims (33) and tapered roller bearing outer race (32) for the transmission main shaft (9) into the front part of the transmission housing (1)

 Note determined thickness of shims (33).



Install shims (35) and tapered roller bearing outer race (34) for the countershaft (20) into the front part of the transmission housing (1)

 Note determined thickness of shims (35).



Attach front part of transmission housing (1) to rear part of transmission housing (10).

 Coat sealing surfaces with sealant.

Install guide bolt for the shift fork mounting (3, 22) of the 5th/6th gear shift fork (7)

 Center shift fork for 5th./6th. gear (7) through the opening in the front part of the transmission housing (1) relative to the guide pins for the shift fork mounting (3, 22).

Insert guide pin for shift fork mounting (3) using instant-set adhesive.

Tighten lock bolts (11).



Move shift rails with shift forks (8) into neutral

 The shift rails with shift forks (8) can be reached through the opening in the front part of the transmission housing (1).

 Apply oil to radial shaft sealing ring (2) on sealing lip.

Remove transmission from assembly stand (30)

Install radial shaft sealing ring at output end (23)

 Apply oil to radial shaft sealing ring (23) on sealing lip.



Install the transmission output flange (24), washer (25) and screw in the bolt (26)

 Check bearing surface of radial shaft sealing rings (23) and meshing on the transmission output flange (24) for signs of damage and wear, replace if necessary.

Apply oil to bearing surface on transmission output flange (24). Replace bolt (26) Counterhold transmission output flange (24).


