Install spacer washer (11) in center section of transmission housing (10)

Using a suitable drift, install tapered roller bearing outer races (8, 12) all the way in center section of transmission housing (10)

 Grease the tapered roller bearing outer races (8, 12) with multipurpose grease.

Install holding device (30) for shift unit (9) on center section of transmission housing (10)



Install reverse gear (25) together with bearing and bushing in
center section of transmission housing (10) and push reverse gear (25) to side
(arrow)

Install main shaft (13), countershaft (7), shift unit (9) and oil pipe (4) in center section of transmission housing (10)

Check wear limits between synchronizer cone (with synchronizer ring and annular spring (14)) and sliding sleeve (15)

 In the case of wear, replace the components concerned.

Place synchronizer cone (with synchronizer ring and annular spring (14)) on main shaft (13)

Install sliding sleeve (15).

 The long collar must point toward the output end.

Install drive shaft (16)

 Push the countershaft (7) to one side.

Grease tapered roller bearing (pilot bearing) with multipurpose grease.

Center reverse gear (25),
insert reverse shaft and install retaining plate of reverse shaft



Install splitter group shift fork (6) together with sliding blocks (5) and place on guide rail (36) of
shift unit (9) (arrow)

Install radial shaft sealing ring and pilot bushing for shift rod of splitter group (2)

Screw guide bolts into the front section of transmission housing (3)

Fit front section of transmission housing (3) on center section of transmission housing (10)

 Coat the sealing surfaces with sealant.

When fitting, the
shift rails (35) must slide into the guide in the front section of the transmission housing (3).

Install shift rod for splitter group (2)

 The splitter group shift fork (6) must engage in the cutout of the splitter group shift rod (2).

Remove guide pins from front section of transmission housing (3), and
screw in bolts (A, B, C, D) around circumference of
front section of transmission housing (3)

 The different bolt lengths must be observed.

Bolt (A): 52 mm

Bolt (B): 66 mm

Bolt (C): 80 mm

Bolt (D): 90 mm



Insert oil pipe (4) into front section of transmission housing (3), and install retaining ring (19) of oil pipe (4)

Using a suitable drift, install tapered roller bearing outer races (20, 23) all the way in front section of transmission housing (3)

 Grease the tapered roller bearing outer races (20, 23) with multipurpose grease.

Use the holding device (34) to fasten the shift rails (35) into the neutral position



 The oil grooves of brake disks must be aligned.

Pull rubber sealing ring onto shift piston, mount shift piston on splitter group shift rod (2) and secure with quick-action adhesive

 Coat rubber sealing ring with synthetic grease.
