Remove gear shift cylinder (1)

Remove gear control valve (33)

 Only applies to model 375.3, 970, 972, 974, 976 with code (GS1) "manual" gearshift.

Remove screw plug (12), springs (13, 14) and catch bolt (15)

 The screw plug (12) is spring-loaded.

Unscrew bolt (19), remove retaining plate (20) and reverse idler shaft (18)



Unscrew screw plug (21) at rear transmission housing (17)

Drive guide bolt (57) out of rear transmission housing (17) using a suitable drift

 Only possible with three guide pins (57).

Unscrew bolts (16) around circumference of rear transmission housing (17)

Unscrew screw plug (26) and remove oil strainer (25) with spring (24)

Remove bearing pin (27) on left and right of rear transmission housing (17)

 Do not remove splitter group bearing pin (35).

Push shop-made guide rod through threaded hole of screw plug (21), press down oil pipe (11) and lift off rear transmission housing (17)

 Push reverse gear (56) in transmission housing to the side (arrow).

Take care not to damage the oil pipe (11).



Remove shift forks (10, 9, 8)

 Remove clip (6) from shift rod (2).

Remove oil pipe (11)

Remove pulse star (30).

Remove splitter group bearing pin (35) and shift fork (7)

Lift main shaft (31) with drive shaft (32) and countershaft (45) out of front transmission housing (36)



Put main shaft (31), drive shaft (32) and countershaft (45) to one side and detach special tool

 Separate main shaft (31) from input shaft (32) and countershaft (45).



Remove drive shaft bearing cap (39) and countershaft bearing cap (40)

 Use a suitable drift.
