	Disassemble
1	Remove shift mechanism		AR26.60-W-0001F
2	Remove circlip (9)
 Danger!	Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by handling hot or glowing objects.	Wear safety gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary.	AS00.00-Z-0002-01A
3	Heat grub screws (13) to a maximum of 80 °C and screw out of notch lever (8)	 The grub screws (13) are micro-encapsulated.
4	Pull gearshift tube (4) out of shift cover (7) and remove notch lever (8)	 The notch lever (8) is spring-loaded.
5	Take index bolt (12) and springs (10, 11) out of notch lever (8)
6	Detach detent segment (15)	 Observe correct installation position.
7	Remove radial shaft sealing ring (5).
8	Remove needle bearing (6)	 Only if worn.

9	Remove circlip (1) and take washers (2) with spring (3) out of gearshift tube (4)	 The circlip (1) is destroyed during removal.
10	Remove roll pin (25)	 Only if code (GS1) manual gearshift is fitted.
11	Remove gearshift lever (24) from shift shaft (19)	 Only if code (GS1) manual gearshift is fitted.
12	Remove roll pin (17)
13	Pull shift shaft (19) out of bearing cap (23) and remove bush (18)
14	Remove radial shaft sealing ring (27).
15	Remove needle bearing (26)	 Only if worn.

16	Remove circlip (32) and take off cover (31), springs (29, 30) and index bolt (28)	 Only when installing new bearing cap (23) or index bolt (28).
17	Remove roll pin (22)	 Check roll pin (22) for wear and cracks and replace if necessary.
18	Remove shift finger (21) and plunger block (20) from shift shaft (19)	 Observe correct installation position. Check for wear or damage, replace if necessary.
	Assemble
19	Insert washers (2) with spring (3) into gearshift tube (4) and install circlip (1)	 Install new circlip (1). Observe installation sequence.
20	Drive in needle roller bearing (6) as far as the stop using a suitable drift and coat with grease.	 Only if worn.	*BR00.45-Z-1001-06A
21	Drive in radial shaft sealing ring (5) as far as stop using a suitable drift	 Coat lips with long-life grease.	*BR00.45-Z-1001-06A
22	Install detent segment (15)	 Observe correct installation position. Drill hole (arrow B) must point towards output.

23	Insert index bolt (12) and springs (10, 11) into notch lever (8)
24	Insert gearshift tube (4) into shift cover (7) and notch lever (8)	 The notch lever (8) is spring-loaded.
25	Install circlip (9)
26	Push shift finger (21) and plunger block (20) onto shift shaft (19) and drive in roll pin (22)	 Observe installation position Check roll pin (22) for wear and cracks and replace if necessary.
27	Insert shift shaft (19) into gearshift tube (4).

29	Insert index bolt (28), springs (29, 30), cover (31) and circlip (32) into bearing cap (23)	 Only when installing new bearing cap (23) or index bolt (28).
30	Drive in needle roller bearing (26) as far as the stop using a suitable drift and coat with grease.	 Only if worn.	*BR00.45-Z-1001-06A
31	Drive in radial shaft sealing ring (27) as far as stop using a suitable drift	 Coat lips with long-life grease.	*BR00.45-Z-1001-06A
32	Insert shift shaft (19) into bush (18) and bearing cap (23)	 Observe correct installation position. The long chamfer (arrow A) must point towards the shift finger (21).
33	Drive in roll pin (17)	 Check roll pin (17) for wear and cracks, replace if necessary.
34	Install gearshift lever (24) at shift shaft (19)	 Only if code (GS1) manual gearshift is fitted.
35	Drive in roll pin (25)	 Only if code (GS1) manual gearshift is fitted.
