Service Information: Activation, use and extension of Live Traffic Information service

Validity

The "Live Traffic Information" service is enabled for the above-mentioned vehicles in the following countries: A, B, CH, CZ, D, DK, E, F, FI, GB, H, I, L, N, NL, P, PL, S

 We would like to inform you here of changes with regard to the activation, use and renewal of the "Live Traffic Information" service.

Availability of "Live Traffic Information" as from the date of initial registration

As part of a so-called "test phase" the service will be usable as from the date of initial registration for a period of 3 months free of charge and without any need for customer registration. If, during the course of this 3 month test phase the customer chooses not to register the service, the service will then be automatically terminated when this period expires, and no longer available to the vehicle. Please note that this 3-month test phase no longer applies as from the "Mercedes me connect" Release 17C (approx. 09/2017). Registration in the "Mercedes me Portal" is then required as from the first day of use by the customer.

Commissioning or registration of "Live Traffic Information"

In order to use the advantages of the real-time traffic data (Live Traffic Information) free of charge for an overall period of three years as from the initial registration date, the customer has to register in the "Mercedes me Portal", link his/her vehicle, accept the terms of use for this service and then activate it.

Renewal of "Live Traffic Information"

"Live Traffic Information" can be renewed at any given time once the 3-year, free-of-charge useful life has ended by the customer in the "Mercedes me connect Store". This can be accessed through the "Mercedes me Portal". Here, the customer can choose a period of one, two or three years, place the corresponding product into the shopping basket and then make the payment. After this, the "Live Traffic Information" service is available again for the required period. If the service is not renewed, and depending on the country involved, only the basic, free of charge TMC (Traffic Message Channel) will then be available.

"Mercedes me connect" aftersales support

To ensure that efficient diagnosis is possible for the services and functions connected to "Mercedes me connect", a central contact person has been established for the After-Sales area.
