Due to recent events, we would like to once again point out the applicable warranty rules for vehicles whereby the series production version has been subsequently modified by a body manufacturer/vehicle conversion company.
As part of our customer-oriented approach and in accordance with the expectations of our Mercedes-Benz customers, we, as the manufacturer, recommend having external installations repaired within our service network.
For vehicles which were modified via the Mercedes-Benz Custom Tailored Trucks (CTT) division, Mercedes-Benz is responsible for the warranty. These vehicles are identified by an equipment code starting with Kxxx.
For vehicles which were modified by an external body manufacturer/vehicle conversion company, these modifications cannot be processed via the usual manufacturer warranty. In these cases, warranty claims, replacement parts etc. must be arranged directly with the main contractor or respective body manufacturer/conversion company. The corresponding information can be found, for example, in the vehicle data card (VeDoc) under "AO texts" or in the "Confirmations of body manufacturer" section of the maintenance booklet.
