Function sequence
The start function is activated by turning the transmitter key (A8/1) from position 2 (tml. 15 On) to position 3 (tml. 50 On) in the EIS control unit.
Function
The following sub-functions are active:
Starter control
- The starter is actuated directly via the starter relay
Ignition
- The high-voltage is distributed directly to the spark plugs without an ignition distributor static high-voltage distribution.
Cylinder-sequential port injection
- Injection is carried out by the fuel injection valves
Synchronization of injection and ignition sequences
- Synchronization is required to actuate the ignition coils for cylinders 1+2, the ignition coils for cylinders 3+4 and the fuel injection valves
Fuel pump control
- The fuel pump with fuel level sensor is actuated via the fuel pump relay
Start quantity control
- During the start procedure, additional fuel must be injected in relation to the coolant temperature
Alternator interface
- Messages are exchanged between the ME unit and the alternator via the alternator interface.
