Assemble

1

Install drive shaft bearing shell (37) and front countershaft bearing shell (42)

 Use a suitable drift.

Grease contact surface of bearing shells using lubricant.

Preassemble drive shaft bearing cap (39) and countershaft bearing cap (40)

 For better installation of oil pipe (11) and to secure bearing shells.

Do not install sealing rings and shims (38, 41).

Install radial shaft sealing ring and pilot bushing for shift piston with shift rod (44)

Assemble shift

Install shift cover (53) on the right with washer (54) and new sealing rings on the front of the transmission housing (36)

 Note center position (neutral) of catch bolt.

Pay attention to different lengths of bolts.

Clean sealing surfaces and coat with sealing compound.

Insert shift rods (5, 4, 3, 2) into front transmission housing (36)

 Note installation sequence and installation position.

Insert bearing cap with shift shaft (34) into front transmission housing (36)

 Guide shift finger and plunger block of shift shaft into shift rods (5, 4, 3, 2).

Clean sealing surfaces and coat with sealing compound.

Install locking ring (52) and new cover (51)

 Press shift rod simultaneously to the right.

Glue in cover using locking agent.

Preassemble shift piston with rubber sealing ring on shift rod

 Only tighten finger-tight.Only secure the shift piston to the shift rod using the thread locking compound after the required shims have been determined.

Install shift piston with shift rod (44)

Preassemble shift cylinder (43) with retaining ring

 Preassemble without shims.

Assemble countershaft (45)

Assemble (32) drive shaft

Mount main shaft (31) on drive shaft (32)

Attach lifting device to main shaft (31) and countershaft (45)

Insert main shaft (31) together with drive shaft (32) and countershaft (45) into front transmission housing (36) using lifting device

 Then detach the lifting device.

Install pulse star (30) on drive shaft (32)

Install shift fork (7)

Install splitter group bearing pin (35)

 Insert the splitter group bearing pin (35) using thread locking compound.

Install oil pipe (11)

Install shift forks (8, 9, 10) and clip into shift rods (2, 3, 4, 5)

 The clip (6) must engage securely on the shift rod (2).

Install bearing shells (29, 46) in rear transmission housing (17)

 The rear transmission housing (17) must be free of oil and grease in the area around the bearing shells (29, 46).

Grease contact surface of bearing shells (29, 46) using lubricant.

Push shop-made guide rod for oil pipe (11) through threaded hole of screw plug (21)



Install reverse gear (56) and move into installation position (arrow)

Drive guide pins (57) into rear transmission housing (17) until they project approx. 5 mm above contact surface

Mount rear transmission housing (17)

 Coat sealing surfaces with sealant.

Insert shop-made guide rod into oil pipe (11).

Install bearing bolt (27)

 First screw in the bearing pins (27) on the left side of the transmission by max. one turn.

Insert bearing pin (27) with sealing compound.

Insert guide bolt (57) into front transmission housing (36) until flush

Install catch bolt (15), springs (13, 14) and screw plug (12)



Screw in bolts (16) around circumference of transmission



Pull shop-made guide rod out of threaded hole for screw plug (21)

Screw new screw plug (21) into rear transmission housing (17)

Install reverse idler shaft (18) and retainer (20) and secure in place using bolt (19)



Position transmission so it is horizontal

Install spring (24), oil strainer (25) and screw plug (26)

 Replace sealing ring.



Install output flange (23)

 Install new radial shaft sealing rings.

Remove shift cylinder (43) and shift piston

Press splitter group shift rod backwards

 Turn input shaft (32) by hand until the splitter group is engaged.

Detach drive shaft bearing cover (39)
