Open maintenance flap

Danger!

Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Remove fill level and SCR AdBlue temperature combination sensor (B117) at AdBlue tank (9)

 Only if the AdBlue container (9) is replaced.

Disconnect electrical connector (12) and pull electrical line (11) for fill level and SCR AdBlue temperature combination sensor (B117) out of longitudinal member

Open insulating tubing in the area of AdBlue return connection (3) and coolant feed connection (4) to a length of about 10 cm and push back.

Open insulating tubing in the area of AdBlue return connection (1) and coolant feed connection (2) with roller pliers to a length of about 10 cm and push back.

Clamp off coolant feed line (8) and coolant return line (6)

Clamp off AdBlue feed line (5) and AdBlue return line (7) with circuit

Remove coolant lines at coolant return connection (2) and coolant feed connection (4)

 Collect coolant in clean container.

 Installation: Replace O-ring.

Pour caught coolant back into coolant circuit after installing AdBlue tank (9).

Risk of burn injuries and scalding when working at AdBlue lines and the components attached to them. Risk of injury to skin and eyes when handling AdBlue. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing AdBlue

Only pour AdBlue into suitable containers. Wait until the pressure is released before starting any work on the exhaust aftertreatment system.

Remove AdBlue lines at AdBlue feed connection (1) and AdBlue return connection (3)

Empty AdBlue tank (9)

 Do not fill with drained amount of AdBlue again. Contaminated AdBlue can cause damage to the exhaust aftertreatment system.

Remove tensioning strap (10) on AdBlue tank (9)

Install in the reverse order

 Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns from working on the vehicle as it is being started or when the engine is running

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Bleed cooling system

 Run engine for about 1 minute at varying rotational speeds.

Top off coolant constantly to the bottom edge of the filler neck.
