Close shutoff valves for cooling system

 See Operator's Manual

Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Remove lower charge air pipe from charge air cooler

Remove coolant pipe and coolant hoses

 Only remove coolant pipes and coolant hoses needed to be able to remove the radiator unit.

Disconnect electrical connector (5) at proportioning valve (4)

Detach feed line (6) from proportioning valve (4)

 Collect hydraulic fluid which flows out in a suitable vessel. Observe disposal regulations.

 Installation: Clean sealing surfaces. Replace seal.

Lower vehicle

Detach hydraulic hose (8) from return flow pipe (10)

 Collect hydraulic fluid which flows out in a suitable vessel. Observe disposal regulations.

 Installation: Clean sealing surfaces. Replace seal.

Remove leak oil line (11) from the container for hydraulic fluid (13) and expose

Expose leak oil line (11)

Remove coolant hose (12) from container for coolant (14)

Expose outlet lines (9)

Take top bracket (7) for radiator unit off vehicle frame

Raise vehicle

Remove holder (1) for engine compartment paneling

Support radiator unit and secure with a suitable vehicle jack to prevent it dropping down and toppling

Remove screw/bolts (2) from supporting frame (3) and lower radiator unit carefully using the supporting frame (3)

Carefully lead out radiator unit together with the supporting frame (3) to the side

Install in the reverse order



Checking

Check coolant hoses and coolant pipes for leaks, undamaged condition as well as routing free of chafing points

Inspect charge air hoses, charge air pipes for proper condition and leaktightness

 Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running

 Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving off by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
