Remove/Install

Open rear lid

Fold down bumper cover

Open the top right rear maintenance flap of the vehicle

Raise vehicle.

Remove the engine compartment paneling under the radiator unit and under the engine

Close the shutoff valves of the cooling system

 See Operating Instructions

Danger!

Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage bottles.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye protection.

Drain coolant

 Installation: Pour in coolant.



Remove coolant pipes (2)

 Coolants pipes (2) between the outlet nipple of the coolant pump (4) and the bottom connections at the radiator (3).

Remove coolant pipes (1)

 Coolants pipes (1) between the inlet nipple of the coolant pump (5) and the top connections at the radiator (3). If required, remove the filter bowl of the hydrostatic fan drive:



Remove/install the hydrostatic fan drive filter bowl.

Install in the reverse order

 Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns when working in engine during starting procedure

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.

Start engine and run for about 1 minute at varying speeds

Switch off engine and top up coolant

Crank the engine and allow it to run until the coolant has reached operating temperature

Switch off engine and allow to cool down

 Let the engine cool off until the coolant temperature is about 50 °C.

Check coolant level, adjust to correct level if necessary.

 At a coolant temperature of about
50 °C.


