Service Information: Software-based retrofits

 For the vehicles mentioned above, the software-based special equipment codes (SA codes) and functions listed below can be retrofitted subject to a fee (software retrofit). Further information is available in the XENTRY Portal under the following path:

For cases critical to documentation, such as deactivation of the SRS components and speed changes, a ticket must be created in the event category "Software retrofit" in the "Xentry Support & Feedback" (XSF) system, which you will find in your application list of the XENTRY Portal.

Important: The country-specific regulations and legislation must be checked and observed. The XSF ticket must have the appropriate objective evidence documentation attached to it. Any queries pertaining to this should be addressed to the national organization.

After shipment of the XSF ticket, the corresponding part number must be ordered at the same time through the parts ordering process, quoting the vehicle identification number (VIN) and the XSF ticket number. The XSF ticket number is to be entered in the ordering system in the "Additional entry" field.

 To avoid a second workshop visit, the signed customer declaration for a subsequent change to the maximum speed limit or for deactivation of an SRS component must be submitted via XSF ticket when the job is accepted and the corresponding part number must be ordered.

 Please note that the XSF tickets may need to be approved by the national organization, leading to longer processing times. It may take a few days for the entry to be visible in the "Vehicle Documentation" (VeDoc).

Please note that only a completed procedure, i.e. a parts order with the corresponding XSF ticket, can be processed. Incomplete procedures will be canceled.

For cases that are not documentation-critical, such as cancellation of the MB Contact maintenance note, it is not necessary to create a ticket in the "Xentry Support & Feedback" (XSF) system. For this, corresponding part number must just be ordered through the parts ordering process quoting the vehicle identification number (VIN).

 Direct entry of the SA code in the "Vehicle Documentation" (VeDoc) while bypassing the ordering process and the fitting check is impermissible, and any such instance shall be invoiced retroactively to the respective company.

 The corresponding operation items should be used for retrofitting.

 54-1011: Carry out quick test

 54 0991: Program and code .................... control unit (after quick test)

 54 0650: Maintain on-board electrical system voltage (during testing and diagnosis work)

On engine 622 or 651, the following points must be observed before changing the maximum speed limitation:

 Up to 07/2015, with code XA5 (Weight variant 3,200 kg), the code MK9 (Speed limit 160 km/h) is programmed in the vehicle but not stored in VeDoc. On these vehicles, the code MK9 (Speed limit 160 km/h) must be entered manually in VeDoc.

 As of 08/2015, with code XA5 (Weight variant 3,200 kg), the code MK9 (Speed limit 160 km/h) is programmed in the vehicle and stored in the VeDoc.

 Code MK9 (Speed limit 160 km/h) can be added for all vehicles; however, it must not be deleted for vehicles with the following code combinations:

 Code XA5 (Weight variant 3,200 kg) + code Z41 (Registration as truck)

 Code RS3 (Steel wheels 6.5 J x 16) + code MG4 (Engine OM 651 DE 22 LA 140 kW (190 hp) 3800 rpm) + code RG2 (Tires 225/60 R16)

 Code MD3 not permissible for MA6 and MB6 (Euro 6 Gr. I and Euro 6 Gr. III)

 On vehicles with code MK2 or MD3, the respective code must be deleted and replaced with MK9 (Speed limit 160 km/h).

 Deactivation of SRS components:
Codes O30, O31,O33, O35 for deactivation of SRS components can only be conducted on Vito model 447 and for medical reasons.

 When subsequently changing the SA codes, it is essential to observe the column "buildability condition" in the table listed below.
