Coolant filter

For vehicles where sludging of the engine cooling system has been determined, a coolant filter (5) is to be retrofitted from damage phase 2 (2) up to damage phase 4 (4). For the vehicle model designations listed in the table a retrofit has been approved, further vehicle variants are being trialled.

If the coolant filter (5) is retrofitted, the code M8T (Coolant filter) is to be entered through VeDoc into the online vehicle data card. Furthermore, if a maintenance channel for coolant is present, the coolant change interval must be set to 1 year and 150,000 km.

The coolant filter element is to be replaced for the first time 4 to 8 weeks after its installation. The first replacement is to be invoiced using damage code 20125-ZZ (Coolant filter element). Following this, the maintenance interval for changing the coolant filter element is available in the updated maintenance sheet.
