Drain off

1	Unscrew cap on filler neck (1).

2	Clamp off coolant hoses (2, 3, 4) at the places shown (arrow A, B, C) using  clamping devices (7).

3	Clamp off coolant hose (5) at the place shown (arrow D) using pliers (10).

4	Remove coolant hose (2) from expansion reservoir (8) and place a suitable drain hose (6) onto the coolant connection (9) and drain off coolant.

 The coolant hose (2) must be replaced as quickly as possible by the drain hose (6) to avoid exit of coolant at the coolant connection (9).
Collect coolant in a suitable container.

5	Detach drain hose (6) from coolant connection (9).

Pour in

6	Attach coolant hose (2) to coolant connection (9) of the expansion reservoir (8).

 Replace sealing ring in quick-release coupling for the coolant hose (2) and coat with lubricant. Click safety clip into place on the coolant hose (2).

7	 Remove clamping devices (7) and pliers (10) on the coolant hoses (2, 3, 4, 5).

8	Check coolant for soiling.

 Observe disposal regulations.

If there is severe contamination:

Replace coolant completely and de-oil the cooling and heating system.

9	Check coolant with antifreeze tester.

When antifreeze protection is too low:

Correct concentration of antifreeze or replace the coolant.

10	Pour in coolant up to lower edge of filler neck (1) ENGINE 473.9  Engine 470.9, 471.9  .

11	Start engine and run for about 2 minute at varying rotational speeds.

 Pour in coolant up to lower edge of filler neck (1).

12	Tighten cap on filler neck (1).

13	Switch off engine.

14	Check cooling system for leaktightness.

 Visual inspection.
