With immediate effect, for Mercedes-Benz cars and smart, it is possible to restore the customer's mobility directly at the breakdown location in case of a flat tire either using an emergency spare tire or a temporary tire sealing. The temporary tire sealing is possible on conventional tires as well as on runflat tires. Two new methods are thus available for increasing the repair rate at the breakdown location and to avoid towing.

The PLUG SRAS-PROFI (starter set, net price: €92, status 05.2016) contains a hand milling cutter and carbide milling cutter.
The PLUG SRAS-REFILL (refill kit, net price: €22, status 05.2016) contains Special Cement BL, sealing body and speed sticker.
The Special Cement BL that is included in the set has a limited shelf-life. Please check the shelf-life after receiving the set or the refill kit.
Emergency wheel
Prior to the breakdown case, the emergency spare tire is either stored at the dealer or carried along directly in the service vehicle. The emergency spare tires are only meant for temporary use within the permissible speed limits (80 km/h or 50 mph). In a breakdown case, the customer's tire remains with the dealer by way of a security deposit.
Additional speed stickers can be procured separately via the usual ordering process.
Special screws/bolts are necessary for mounting (steel) emergency spare tires on a vehicle with aluminum rims.
General
The decision on which of the two methods is the most suitable may be made by the technician at the location. The same applies to assessment of the emergency spare tire before reuse. In case of successful repairs at the breakdown location, settlement can be made via Roadside Repair Bonus from Mobilo & smart road assistance. In order to attract the customer to tire replacement directly in the workshop, the breakdown service executive ideally gives the customer a coupon (e.g. reduction in tire price) and makes an appointment for tire replacement immediately at the breakdown location. Otherwise the general rules and regulations of Daimler AG for breakdown service apply.
