GF82.61-P-2001A | Switch-on operation, function | 14.2.97 |
MODEL 129, 140, 168, 202, 208, 210 / with CODE (351) Auto-pilot system (APS)
MODEL 129, 140, 202, 208 with CODE (815) Dynamic APS
Switching on for the first time
If the APS system is switched on without performing the start-up operation, the settings required for operation have not been made. Navigation is therefore not possible. The message "PLEASE VISIT WORKSHOP" appears on the display.
Switching on ignition
After switching on the ignition the navigation processor (A2/30) performs a system test. The necessary software is loaded from the CD-ROM and the navigation processor starts its continuous position finding function. Control is not possible during the switch-on operation.
Switching on following interruption in operation < approx.
30 min.
If the APS has been switched off for less than approx. 30 min., when it is switched back on it is in the mode previously set and the same display appears as before it was switched off.
Switching on after interruption in operation > approx. 30 min.
After an interruption in operation for more than approx. 30 min. the navigation processor (A2/30) loads the navigation program and displays the initial navigation menu.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Switching on after interruption to power supply
Following an interruption in the power supply to the navigation processor (A2/30) lasting less than approx. 15 s, the voice prompts may be incomplete (recognizable by words missing, not understandable or completely deleted). In such cases it is necessary to reload the language manually.
After an interruption in the power supply to the navigation processor (A2/30) lasting longer than approx. 15 s the language is reloaded automatically.
Loading a language requires:
Up to 20 minutes with first and second generation systems
Only approx. 20 s with third generation systems.
After an interruption to the power supply it is necessary to reenter the anti-theft code on the radio and navigation operating unit (A2/29).
