Danger ! | Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. | Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
Danger ! | Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant. | Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
| Notes on coolant | ||
1 | Set heater control to warm and fan to stage 3 | See owner's manual.
2 | Open engine hood | See information from vehicle manufacturer.
3 | Turn cap (2) of expansion reservoir (1) slowly in order to reduce overpressure in cooling system
4 | Open cap (4) | ||
5 | Screw "Series 40" connector onto valve part (5) and collect coolant in a vessel
| Notes on coolant | ||
The old coolant must be drained completely.
6 | Unscrew connector from valve part (5)
7 | Close cap (4) | ||
8 | Pour in coolant up to the fold (arrow) or up to the MAX. mark in the expansion reservoir (1)
| Notes on coolant | ||
Use only coolant of the specified composition.

9 | Start engine | ||
10 | Bleed cooling and heating system | Allow the engine to run at varying speeds and increase the coolant temperature to approx. 80 °C. Replenish any missing coolant with the engine still running (unscrew the cap (2) slowly and release the pressure). The cooling system is correctly filled when the coolant is at the fold (arrow) or at the MAX. mark of the expansion reservoir (1).
11 | Turn off engine | ||
12 | Tighten cap (2) | ||
13 | Check cooling system for leaktightness | Visual inspection.
14 | Close engine hood | See information from vehicle manufacturer. |
