Note fault code.

AD00.00-P-2000-04A

III

Call up and print out alarm source memory.

The overview of the alarm source memory can be called and printed out in Xentry Diagnostics in the DAS mask under the control unit of the EDW master:

- "EDW master control unit"

- "Actual values"

- "Alarm sources"

IV

Check whether there is a TIPS document for the customer complaint, fault code or alarm source.

Follow instructions in TIPS document. Always observe the specified validity. If this does not lead to success or a TIPS document is not present, proceed on the basis of the available information.

Complaint

Cause (loud alarm source)

Notes

Remedy

Inadvertent activation of ATA [EDW]

(visual and acoustic alarm)

Contact switch

(engine hood, door, etc.)

- Associated hood, door or lid does not fit well so that contact switch is not actuated reliably.

Check installation position of affected components, correct if necessary

- Contact switch defective
(e.g. loose contact)

Check contact switch, replace if necessary

- Lines, connectors and contacts defective

Check lines and connectors, repair if necessary

- Ground contact faulty

Secure ground contact

Interior protection

(with code (882) Interior monitoring (with ATA only))

- Objects in vehicle can lead to reflections and thereby to erroneous alarm On model 209.4, 230 metallic objects should not be present in the center console compartment.

Objects, that led to triggering, have been removed from the vehicle by the customer.

Remove objects

- Insects in vehicle

- If a stationary heater has been retrofitted (as an accessory), air turbulence may lead to false alarms.

- Interior protection sensor cover not correctly fastened
(Model 203, 215, 216, 220, 221)

Check whether interior protection sensor cover is seated correctly

- Interior protection sensor not fastened properly

Installation position:

Model 169, 245:
the interior protection sensor is integrated into the ATA control unit, which is directly clipped into the overhead control panel

Check whether overhead control panel and ATA control unit are seated correctly

Model 164, 251:
The interior protection sensor is clipped into the overhead control panel

Check whether overhead control panel and interior protection sensor are seated correctly

Model 209, 211, 219:
The interior protection sensor is integrated into the rear overhead control panel

Check whether rear overhead control panel is seated correctly

Model 209.4, 230:
The interior protection sensor is installed in the center console

Check whether the interior protection sensor is seated correctly.

Model 209.4:
The 2nd interior protection sensor (slave) is installed in the rear center console

Check whether 2nd interior protection sensor is seated correctly

Tow-away protection

- Tow-away protection sensor is not fastened correctly

Check whether the tow-away protection sensor is seated correctly

Installation location:
Model 216, 221:
The tow-away protection sensor is integrated into the alarm siren

Check whether alarm siren is fastened correctly.

Model 164, 251:
The tow-away protection sensor is integrated into the rear SAM.

Check whether rear SAM is seated correctly

Model 169, 245:
The interior protection sensor is integrated into the ATA control unit, which is directly clipped into the overhead control panel

Check whether overhead control panel and ATA control unit are seated correctly

Glass breakage loop

(on model 164, 203.2/7, 211.2, 251)

- Resistance value for glass breakage sensor too high
Nominal value to ground: R < 50 Ω (measured at connector on interior protection sensor).

The resistance can change due to jolts or depending on the temperature.

If the value is greater:

- Check glass breakage loops in windows individually (nominal value: R < 20 Ω)

Replace corresponding window

If the value for the glass breakage loops in the windows is okay:

- Check lines, connectors and ground connection

Repair lines, connectors and ground connection

Alarm siren

(Siren self-alarm or interruption in communication with alarm siren (only on sirens with rechargeable battery))

- Check by actuation with Xentry-Diagnostics in DAS-mask

- Check power supply

- Check communication line

- Check signal with oscilloscope ("HMS")
(pass image: see A/C bus W203")

It is necessary to actuate the alarm siren with Xentry diagnostics during testing.

Repair lines, connectors and ground connection

Panic alarm

(with code (763) Radio remote control with panic switch)

- Erroneous operation is possible (unintentional actuation of the transmitter key button, where applicable also be another transmitter key assigned to vehicle)

Repeats purely acoustic alarm

(only on siren with rechargeable battery)

No entry present

- Communication between alarm siren and ATA master interrupted sporadically
