Remove/install

Drain off coolant

Remove poly-V belt

Release clamp (1), and remove coolant hose (2) at connection fitting of coolant pump (5)

 Hose clamp pliers

Fasten coolant hose (2) outside the working area

Remove coolant hose at connection fitting of coolant pump (5)

Remove heat shield from right engine mount and right engine support

Remove heat shield at ATL

 If necessary.

 Bolt, heat shield to cylinder head/bracket for air filter

Remove screw/bolt (3s)

 Bolt, coolant pipe to crankcase/timing case

Remove screw/bolt (4s), and remove coolant line (3) at coolant pump (5)

 Installation: Replace sealing ring.

 Bolt, feed pipe to coolant pump

Remove coolant lines for ATL

 Bolt, coolant return flow line to cylinder head

 Bolt, coolant feed/return line to turbocharger

 Bolt, coolant line feed line to water pump

Detach vacuum hose (6) at vacuum unit for coolant pump (5)

Remove heat shield from vacuum control unit of coolant pump (5)

Remove screws/bolts (5s), and remove coolant pump (5) from crankcase

 Installation: Replace seal.

 Screw, coolant pump to timing case/crankcase/oil pan

Remove coolant pump (5) forwards

Install in the reverse order



Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
