Check ease of operation and condition of link rod (32/4, 32/9) and throttle control cable (30)

Replace parts if necessary.

Check play between the spring driver encoder (30/7) and guide piece (30/5); adjust it

There should be play between the spring driver encoder (30/7) and guide piece (30/5). Adjust with the adjustment screw (30/3) if necessary

Unhook link rod (32/4) single-sided and check closed throttle stop

The bell crank (32/5) must lie on the closed throttle stop of the idle speed control actuator

Hook in link rod (32/4) unstressed

Engine 104: The link rod (32/4) must remain set to the fixed dimension. This is measured from the middle of the ball socket to middle of the ball socket

Adjust link rod (32/4)

Engine 111:
Lay link rod (32/4) on ball stud unstressed (picture). Shorten link rod (32/4); to do this turn ball socket (2) through 2 revolutions, hook and counter

 Adjustment of the link rod (32/4) must be performed very precisely. The microswitch for the idle speed control must be actuated in the process (closed)

Idle adjustment on the engine side
Check setting of the control lever (32/7), adjust

Engine 104:
The roll (32/8) in the control lever (32/7) must lie on the limit stop of the slotted lever (32/6) free of tension. Adjust the slotted lever (32/6) with the link rod (32/9) if necessary in such a way that the roll (32/8) lies free of tension on the limit stop

Adjust the control pressure Bowden cable (98)

Turn adjustment screw (98/2) for a hooked in control pressure Bowden cable until the tip of the drag lever (32/2) stands at the same height as the tip on the slotted lever (32/6)

7.1

Check full throttle stop; adjust

Manual transmission:
For a switched of engine press accelerator pedal (24) right down to the full throttle stop.
The bell crank (32/5) must lie on the full throttle stop of the idle speed control actuator. Disengage the adjustable full throttle stop (38) if necessary by turning anticlockwise. Pull out the stop pin slightly, then engage full throttle stop (38) through turning clockwise



Automatic transmission:
Press down accelerator pedal (24) for a switched off engine to the full throttle stop on the kickdown switch (S16/7) (do not actuate kickdown switch!).
The bell crank (32/5) must stand shortly before the full throttle stop of the idle speed control actuator; adjust with an adjustment screw (30/3). When actuating the kickdown switch the bell crank must lie on the full throttle stop.

Check idle adjustment on the chassis side; adjust

Accelerator pedal (24) in idle position. There must be play between the spring driver encoder (30/7) and the guide piece (30/5), set on the inside of the vehicle using the adjusting nut (30/2) if necessary

Grease regulating cable (30) between the end piece and guide piece (30/5) with anticorrosion grease

10.1

Adjust link rod (32/11)

 Only for engine 111 with cruise control

Unhook link rod single-sided. The control lever (30/5) must be in the idle position. Turn regulating shaft (32/7) clockwise (arrow) up to the end stop (idle position). Turn drag lever (32/12) clockwise until it lies on the regulating shaft (32/13). Now adjust the link rod (32/11) in such a way that it can be hooked in free of tension
