Always ensure the utmost cleanliness when working on the automatic transmission.

In order to avoid underfilling the transmission, when filling with oil the temperature of the transmission housing must not be more than 30 °C

Clean area surrounding oil filler screw (1) and oil drain screw (2)

Unscrew oil filler plug and oil drain plug, drain oil

 Always replace the screw plugs

Clean the surroundings of the oil line (3) and the return line (6)

 Only with code GK3 (additional oil cooler)

Unscrew oil line (3) and return line (6) on oil cooler

 Only with code GK3 (additional oil cooler)

 When loosening the oil line (3) and return line (6) on connection fitting.

Screw in new oil drain screw

 When tightening the oil line (3) and return line (6) counterhold at connection fitting.

 The oil hoses of the oil line (3) and return line (6) must not be twisted.



First pour in approx. 3 l of oil at the oil filler opening



Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the running engine

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.

Start engine

Danger! Operate service brake.

Shift through all selector lever positions

Remain in each selector lever position for a few seconds. After this shift the selector lever into position "P" again

Pour in oil up to the bottom edge of the oil filler opening when the engine is running

At the idle speed of the engine, heat up transmission oil to 40 °C 10 °C (transmission housing at hand temperature)

At a transmission oil temperature of 40 °C 10 °C the oil must be exactly at the bottom edge of the oil filler opening.

Allow excess oil to drain

 To heat up the transmission oil more quickly: Operate the service brake and shift the selector lever into position "D". Allow the engine to run for a short time with increased idle speed.

In this manner the transmission oil temperature rises very quickly. Do not exceed the specified temperature range
