Inquiries regarding factory finish
For various reasons it may be necessary for workshops to clarify,
1 if the paint is a special paint (identifier "000", Designo, etc.) or
2 if a "repetition of the paintwork operation step" took place at the plant.
Special colors either have the identifier "000" on the identification plate or do not have a paint number. Please address your queries on special colors directly through the TIPS case module.
Please also address any queries on "repetitions of the paintwork operation step ", e.g. because of dust inclusions or runs as part of the standard painting process through the TIPS case module taking the following process flow into account.
Process flow
Creation of a Sketch sheet for paint damage (OF9800P3000*) for customer file
Measurement of paint coat thickness on following parts of body (each at least once):
Engine hood
Trunk lid
Roof
Front fender
Rear fender
Doors
The measurements of the coat thickness must not be made directly at the fold or at the edge area. The Sketch sheet for paint coat thickness can be used for documentation of the paint coat thicknesses.

Written paint query
The relevant Market Performance Center (MPC) or the relevant General Distributor (GV) forwards the TIPS query to GSP/TPB to be investigated and answered. GSP/TPB sends a reply to the query with the corresponding details (specialist comment) directly through the TIPS case module or to the relevant MPC or GV. This then notifies the company submitting the query about the result. The service advisor in the operation explains the matter to the customer.
Generally, the response to the query is issued within a day. In exceptions the MPC or the GV is notified about the expected time frame involved in good time.
For legal reasons the queries must always be submitted in writing, therefore telephone queries should not be made.
