Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.

Plug drain hose onto drain fitting (arrow) of engine radiator.

Open drain screw (3) on engine radiator and collect coolant in a suitable container.

Unscrew drain screw (4) from crankcase at left and right, and collect coolant in a suitable container.

Connect drain hose to the drain screw (4.1) on cylinder crankcase, open drain screw (4.1) and collect coolant in a suitable container.

Detach both coolant hoses (5) from retarder, and collect coolant in a suitable container.

 Raise vehicle at the front if necessary so that the lines are emptied completely.

Retarder with drain fitting
Remove screw plug (6) from retarder, and collect coolant in a suitable container.

 Raise vehicle at the front if necessary so that the lines are emptied completely.

Detach drain hose from drain fitting (arrow) of engine radiator and drain screw (4.1).

Tighten drain screws (3, 4).

Retarder without drain fitting
Attach both coolant hoses (5) to the retarder.

Retarder with drain fitting
Turn-in screw plug (6) on retarder with new sealing ring.

Pour in coolant in the specified composition up to the edge of the filler neck (2).
