5 | Slacken bolts (9) for belt pulley (7) on coolant pump | | |
6 | Swivel the tensioner pulley of tensioning device (14) downward and take off poly-V belt (10) at belt pulley (7) | Do not remove poly-V-belt (10). | |
Installation: Inspect condition of poly-V belt (10), replace if necessary. | |||

10 | Remove bracket (1) on coolant pump (9) and on charge air pipe (5) | | |

12 | Detach coolant pipe (16) from connection piece (4) and push to one side | Do not detach the coolant hoses. Collect coolant which flows out. | |

14 | Detach coolant hose (17) and push the coolant pipe back | Collect coolant that flows out | |
15 | Remove coolant line (15) and both coolant thermostats | Collect coolant that flows out | |
Installation: replace O-rings. The vent opening in both coolant thermostats must face upwards. | |||

17 | Detach crankcase ventilation hose (21) from oil separator (19) | ||
18 | Remove coolant line (12) from coolant pump (9) and on oil filter (6) | Only for vehicles with code (MS4) BlueTec 4 or with code (MS5) BlueTec 5. Collect coolant which flows out. | |
19 | Unscrew connection fitting (23) | ||
20 | Remove connection piece (4) | Push crankcase ventilation bracket (22) to one side. | |
Installation: Coat the new connection fitting (8) with ATE grease. | |||
