Remove/install oil dipstick guide tube

Remove/install

Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.

Open engine hood and raise to vertical position

Raise vehicle with vehicle lift

Remove engine cover (5) at front

Pull oil dipstick out of oil dipstick guide tube (1)

Remove bolts (4) and take out shield (3)

Remove bolt (2)



Detach lower engine compartment paneling

 Installation: Install engine compartment paneling only after engine test run.

Remove oil dipstick guide tube (1) up and out

 Installation: Introduce oil dipstick guide tube (1) into oil pan from below.

 Installation: Replace sealing ring (6) on oil dipstick guide tube (1). When installing oil dipstick guide tube (1), make sure sealing ring (6) is not pressed into the oil pan.

Install in the reverse order



Checking

Check engine oil level and correct if required

 The vehicle must be on a level surface otherwise false measurements will occur.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Carry out an engine test run and check engine for leaks

 In the event of oil loss determine and eliminate cause, otherwise malfunctions, transmission damage, and serious environmental pollution may occur.
