The anti-theft alarm (ATA) can activate itself automatically when
the vehicle is locked manually from the outside with the key without arming the ATA and the time for automatic arming has expired,
the vehicle is locked from inside with the lock/unlock button (S140s5) or (S141s3) without arming the ATA with the ATA/panic alarm button (S59) and the time for the self-arming has expired or
the ignition (circuit 15) is "OFF", the vehicle doors are opened and then closed, however not locked and the time for automatic arming has expired.
However, automatic relocking of the vehicle doors is not accomplished.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The time for automatic arming can be set in the parameters and may differ from vehicle to vehicle.
Duration for self-arming is 90 s as set at the factory
Requirements
Parameter for "ATA automatic arming" function set to "YES".
Voltage supply present at all the control units in question and networking intact.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Function sequence
1.1 The driver door module control unit (TMF) (A66) reads in the signals from the lock/unlock button (S140s5) in the driver door switch panel (S140) and the switch positions of the driver door lock switch (S87) as well as the switches installed in the driver door locking motor (M11).
If the status changes, for example, when the driver door is opened or closed or the unlock/lock button (S140s5) is actuated, the driver door module control unit (TMF) (A66) transmits a corresponding message to the base module (BM) (A7) via the interior CAN (CAN 2).
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1.2 Parallel to this, the signals from the lock/unlock button (S141s3) in the front passenger door switch panel (S141) and the switch positions of the switches installed in the front passenger door locking motor (M12) are sensed by the front passenger door module control unit (TMB) (A67). The front passenger door module control unit (TMB) (A67) processes the information and also transmits it to the base module (BM) (A7) in corresponding messages via the interior CAN (CAN 2).
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2 The electronic circuitry of the anti-theft alarm system (ATA) integrated in the basic module (BM) (A7) receives the messages and evaluates them.
If the anti-theft alarm (ATA) recognizes
that the vehicle doors have been opened and then locked manually from outside with the key without arming the ATA (lock switch actuated for less than 1.5 s) and the ignition (circuit 15) is "OFF",
that the vehicle has been locked from inside with the lock/unlock button (S140s5) in the driver door switch panel (S140) or with the unlock/lock button (S141s3) in the front passenger door switch panel (S141) without arming the ATA with the ATA/panic alarm button (S59) or
that the ignition (circuit 15) is "OFF", the vehicle doors have been opened and then closed again without locking,
it arms automatically after the self-arming time (default 90 s) has expired and monitors all closed warning circuits.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3 Automatic activation of the anti-theft alarm (ATA) is indicated by a visual status feedback signal as well as by an acoustic status feedback signal (can be set in parameters):
3.1 For visual status feedback, the base module (BM) (A7) alternately sends the messages "Left turn signal light ON, right turn signal light ON" and "Left turn signal light OFF, right turn signal light OFF" at a defined frequency to the vehicle CAN bus (CAN 1) as well as to the frame CAN bus.
(CAN 3).
Activation of the ATA is indicated by 3 flashing cycles.
The frequency for the ATA status flashing is 2 Hz.
3.2 For an acoustic status feedback, the alarm siren (B72) connected to the base module (BM) (A7) is actuated synchronously according to the frequency set for the status flashing.
This function can be set in the parameters and can therefore differ from vehicle to vehicle.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4 The instrument (INS) (P2) receives the messages "Left turn signal light ON, right turn signal light ON" and "Left turn signal light OFF, right turn signal light OFF", via the vehicle CAN bus (CAN 1), synchronizes them and actuates
the left vehicle turn signal indicator lamp (P2h2) and when additionally in trailer operation, the left trailer turn signal indicator lamp (P2h4),
the right vehicle turn signal indicator lamp (P2h3) and when additionally in trailer operation, the right trailer turn signal indicator lamp (P2h5) and
the central speaker (B28)
The turn signal noises generated in the instrument (INS) (P2) are output via the central speaker (B28).
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5 The front module (FM) (A64) receives the messages "Left turn signal light ON, right turn signal light ON" and "Left turn signal light OFF, right turn signal light OFF" from the base module (BM) (A7) via the frame CAN bus (CAN 3) and actuates the following over its own output stages,
the turn signal light (E8e1) in the left lamp unit (E8),
the turn signal light (E20e1) in the left combined turn signal and clearance lamp (E20),
the turn signal light (E9e1) in the right lamp unit (E9) and
the turn signal light (E21e1) in the right combined turn signal and clearance lamp (E21)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6 At the same time, the rear module (HM) (A65) receives the messages transmitted by the base module (BM) (A7) via the frame CAN bus (CAN 3) and actuates the following via separate output stages,
the turn signal light (E3e5) in the left taillamp (E3) and
the turn signal light (E4e5) in the right taillamp (E4).
7 If the ATA is in the armed state, this is indicated by the status LED in the ATA/panic alarm button (S59) "flashing" regularly.
Actuation of the status LED in the ATA/panic alarm button (S59) is accomplished directly by the base module (BM) (A7).
