1	Remove rear bottom part of soundproofing	 Installation: Only install engine compartment paneling after leak check on rack-and-pinion steering.	AR94.30-P-5300EW
2	Mark propeller shaft (20)	 Apply color markings to the transmission (1) to indicate the position of the propeller shaft relative to the output flange (5). This ensures that the components are reinstalled at the factory installation position.
3	Detach flexible coupling (20V) from propeller shaft (20) and transmission (1)	 Check the flexible coupling (20V) for wear and damage; replace if necessary.
		 Installation: Install new self-locking nuts.

4	Detach exhaust bracket (3) from transmission (1) and diesel particulate filter (8)	Vehicles with diesel engine	AR49.10-P-7100CWI
5	Detach exhaust clamp (2) and disconnect exhaust system	Vehicles with diesel engine	AR49.10-P-7100CWI
6	Support transmission (1) and secure to prevent it from falling down
7	Detach rear engine crossmember (4) from underfloor		AR22.10-P-1180CW

9	Remove output flange (5)	 Installation: Replace collar nut (6).	AR26.40-P-2475-03CW
		 Installation: Secure the collar nut (6) by striking the collar into the groove of the main shaft using a punch.

10	Use a wide screwdriver to lever radial shaft seal (7) out of transmission housing	 Do not damage fitted seat of radial shaft sealing ring (7) in transmission housing.
		 Installation: Using a drift, press the new radial shaft sealing ring (7) into the transmission housing until the drift rests against the transmission housing.

11	Clean seat of radial shaft sealing ring (7) in transmission housing and sealing surface on output flange (5)	Cleaner from package	*BR00.45-Z-1028-04A
	Checking
12	Check sealing surface on output flange (5) for galling, corrosion and damage	 Replace the output flange (5) if necessary.
13	Check flexible coupling (20V) for wear and damage	 Replace the flexible coupling (20V) if necessary.
14	Install in the reverse order
15	Check oil level in transmission (1) and correct if necessary	 Correct oil level = lower edge of filler opening.
