2

Take out roller cam follower (1) with compensating element (2)

Installation:
Vehicles with code A14(Camtronic)The correct roller cam follower (1) must be installed at the inlet side.
Damage may occur to the camshaft or the cylinder head otherwise.

Vehicles with code A14(Camtronic)
A different roller cam follower (1) is installed on the intake and at exhaust side.

When removing several compensating elements (2) make sure that roller-type cam follower (1) with compensating elements (2), which were not replaced, are reinstalled at the previous fitting point. Mark the roller cam follower (1) for the corresponding compensating element (2) if necessary.

Installation: Lubricate roller cam follower (1) and compensating element (2).

3

Detach the clamp (3) by hand and remove compensating element (2) from roller cam follower (1)

Check

4

Check that compensating element (2) is functioning properly, and replace if necessary

Only push compensating element (2) together by hand and do not use a steel tool.
The surface of the compensating element (2) can get damaged otherwise.

The compensating element (2) should not allow itself to be pressed together by the normal force of the hand and also only slowly when using a strong force.

Check the pressure oil supply to the cylinder head if more than one compensating element (2) is defective.

5

Install in the reverse order

Danger !
