Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Set valve clearance

 Only perform setting when engine is cold or thoroughly warmed through.
Wait at least 30 minutes after switching off the engine.

Warm up engine to normal operating temperature

 Coolant temperature approx. 70-95°C

Remove nozzle holder combinations (1)

Install connection piece (2.1) together with seal (5) and clamp tight with clamp (2.2)

 Attach tensioning clamp tight with a suitable bolt (4).

Crank engine several times with the starter by simultaneously pressing the two pushbutton switches (S10, S11)

 The engine does not start if both pushbutton switches are pressed at the same time.

Assemble compression recorder (3.1) and angled connection (3.2)



Fit compression recorder (3.1) to the connection piece (2.2)

Insert diagram chart (3.2) into compression recorder (3.1)



Checking

Crank engine several times with the starter by simultaneously pressing the two pushbutton switches (S10, S11)

 At least 8 times.

Inspect remaining cylinders in the same way

Compare measurements on diagram chart (3.2) with the specifications

 If the pressure recorded is below the minimum compression or if the permissible difference between the individual cylinders is exceeded, determine cause and rectify.
