Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Unscrew cap (1) on coolant expansion reservoir (2)

 Unscrew cap (1) slowly and relieve overpressure.

Remove front and center engine compartment paneling

Slide drain hose onto drain fitting (3) at radiator

Slacken drain screw on radiator (4) and drain coolant


Remove radiator drain screw (4) until the coolant flows out.
Permanent damage to the radiator drain screw (4) will occur otherwise.

 Observe regulations to dispose of coolant.

 Catch coolant with suitable container.

Tighten radiator drain screw (4) and detach drain hose from drain fitting (3) on radiator

Remove coolant hose on coolant inlet fittings for coolant pump and drain off coolant

 Catch coolant with suitable container.

 Observe regulations to dispose of coolant.

 Check coolant hose and sealing ring for good condition in order to avoid leaks.

Check condition of hose coupling and seat, if necessary



Replace catch spring of hose coupling.

Slide drain hose onto crankcase drain screw (5)

Unfasten crankcase drain screw (5) and drain off coolant

 Catch coolant with suitable container.

 Observe regulations to dispose of coolant.

Tighten down crankcase drain screw (5) and detach drain hose from crankcase drain screw (5)
