SI72.40-T-0001A | Service Information: Warranty and goodwill processing of modular door control system (MTS) control unit | 22.2.06 |
MODEL 613, 671
If door faults exist, frequently the modular door control system (MTS) control unit is replaced. The fault is then apparently eliminated.
When investigated in the plant the control unit itself exhibits no malfunction and is proven to be found fully functional.
The control unit is sometimes replaced on suspicion, if no other fault is found. Due to electronic component tolerances between the individual control units the fault in the door system may no longer occur for a short time after this.
However, this fault regularly occurs again after a few days or weeks because the fault cause was not found and eliminated.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The following sequences should therefore be adhered to:
1. With complaints on the MTS system the repair information or TI72.25M007 should always be observed. Great importance should be attached to careful troubleshooting.
2. The approval of Service must be obtained before replacing a control unit: Mannheim: Tel:+49-(0)621-740 32 80
Ulm: Tel:+49-(0)731-181 88 73
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. To optimize damage analysis the following organization has been determined:
- All the MTS control units which have been removed should be sent to the following address in the original packaging of the new control unit:
EvoBus GmbH
Dept. QSU-LS
Unloading station 960 plant 4
Otto-Hahn-Straße 8
D-89231 Neu-Ulm
This applies to all workshops in Germany and abroad. Abroad the goods are returned via the respective EvoBus subsidiary or national organization or general distributor carrying out the replacement parts deliveries.
The national organization, not the plant, is commissioned with the further processing of the return shipment.
- In an MTS control unit is replaced, the fault memory of the control unit no longer has to be erased. Control units without comprehensible fault memories apply as intact and lead to the rejection of the warranty claim.
- In addition to the damaged parts return delivery card and the warranty claim or the warranty old parts return note (ARS) the general test sheet for control units should always be filled in completely and enclosed. In addition a printout of the DAS fault code list is required.
Warranty and goodwill processing:
Costs incurred for doors replaced without approval will be redebited.
Warranty claims without return delivery of damaged parts, completely filled-in test sheet and enclosed warranty claim will be rejected in future.
The warranty claim must be made immediately and simultaneously the return delivery of the defective MTS control unit, incl. test sheet and copy of the warranty claim take place in the original packaging of the newly installed MTS control unit.
