MODEL 164, 211, 219, 230, 251 with CODE (470) Tire pressure monitor (base)
Due to recent events, we would like to mention that in 2005, the tire pressure monitor system supplier was changed from Beru to Siemens for a few models.
The components from both Beru and Siemens system suppliers are NOT compatible!
Proper system functionality cannot be ensured if the wheel sensors are incorrectly installed or installed in a mixed fashion.
This is why it is important to note that only those wheel sensors specific to the respective system used in the vehicle (i.e. Beru or Siemens) may be installed.
Special attention should be paid to situations in which existing complete wheels with wheel sensors from another vehicle
(e.g. predecessor vehicle with Beru system) are installed; here, too, the installed wheel sensors must be appropriate for the vehicle.
In the installed state (complete wheel), there are almost no differentiating characteristics between Beru and Siemens wheel sensors. As such, it is that much more important to determine the origin of unknown complete wheels when they are delivered.

Return shipment of damaged parts:
In order to further improve product quality, it is absolutely necessary that a qualified, informative statement be made by the technician/fitter (customer complaint included, if necessary) on the warranty part return slip (ARS) for the returned damaged parts in the event of a warranty/goodwill case and that a control unit log (Siemens system) or quick test (Beru system) also is included with the parts. Only when this information is provided is it possible to conduct a targeted investigation of the component and initiate fault rectification.
