Remove/install

1

Bring engine up to operating temperature (approx. 80°C)

 Check for cylinder leakage when engine is at normal operating temperature.

Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key

Remove upper engine cover

4

Detach fuel filter with attached fuel lines and place to one side



Remove glow plugs

Detach coolant line low-temperature circuit from engine charge air duct (3) and place to one side

Position piston of cylinder to be checked at TDC (for ignition) using the counterholder

 Turn engine at the belt pulley/vibration damper (1) for the crankshaft. Turn engine in direction of engine rotation.

Calibrate pressure loss tester (2) and connect

  Use a screw-in piece without check valve.

Check for cylinder leakage



Determine loss of pressure at cylinder

 Apply compressed air to the cylinder and read off pressure loss at  pressure loss tester (2).
