Optimized software for vehicles used for short-distance transport
As of XENTRY DVD 05/2016, a software update is available for the exhaust aftertreatment control unit (ACM). The new software has been optimized with regard to the problems and complaints that are known to be associated with the regeneration of diesel particulate filters on vehicles mainly used for short-distance transport.
For more on this, see SI49.20-W-0032A notes on regeneration of diesel particulate filters on vehicles used for short-distance transport.
The software is valid for all vehicles with manufacture date up to 31.10.2016 or until the introduction of control unit software A60 7.xx.x.x.
It offers the following improvements and remedies:
Increased fault detection threshold for fault codes for pressure sensors of diesel particulate filters
B30C1F "Component 'diesel particulate filter DPF' is clogged or blocked."
B30C14 "The signal of component 'B37 (exhaust pressure sensor upstream of diesel oxidation catalytic converter)' is implausible."
190E0A "The signal of component 'B37 (exhaust pressure sensor upstream of diesel oxidation catalytic converter)' is implausible."
1A0E0A "The signal of component 'B38 (exhaust pressure sensor downstream of diesel particulate filter)' is implausible."
1A0E02 "The signal of component 'B38 (exhaust pressure sensor downstream of diesel particulate filter)' is implausible."
Increased fault detection threshold for fault codes for temperature sensors of diesel particulate filters
B20C15 "The signal of component 'B68 (upper exhaust temperature sensor downstream of diesel oxidation catalytic converter)' is implausible."
AA0C15 "The signal of component 'B67 (exhaust temperature sensor upstream of diesel oxidation catalytic converter)' is implausible."
AA0C0E "The signal of component 'B67 (exhaust temperature sensor upstream of diesel oxidation catalytic converter)' is implausible."
AE0C15 "The signal of component 'B70 (exhaust temperature sensor downstream of diesel particulate filter)' is implausible."
Prevention of a direct switch to zone 5 of the diesel particulate filter
As a result of a malfunction in the onboard computer of the vehicle, if a direct switch to regeneration status zone 5 (fault code 870E00) takes place without going through zones 2 to 4 - which is shown by means of the red warning message "Diesel particulate filter full" in the instrument cluster - a manual regeneration could only be carried out by the workshop. With the new software, the system initially only switches to zone 4 and the driver himself has the option of initiating a manual regeneration once more.
Setting a speed-dependent regeneration block
The new software provides the possibility of setting a speed threshold via XENTRY. Below the speed that has been set, the vehicle does not initiate regeneration on its own. Using XENTRY, the relevant value is set in the exhaust aftertreatment control unit (ACM) under Adaptations Speed threshold.
