Remove

Bring engine to operating temperature (approx. 80 °C)

 Only check compression pressure for an engine is at operating temperature.

Switch off ignition

Remove spark plugs

Crank engine with starter

 Crank engine several times to eliminate combustion residues in cylinders.

Expose right fuse and relay module in engine compartment

 Do not remove fuse and relay module in engine compartment.

Remove fuse (2) for fuel pump



Check

Screw thread adapter (1) into spark plug bore of cylinder to be checked

Connect compression recorder to thread adapter (1)

Crank engine using starter to check compression pressure

 To check compression pressure, crank engine at least 8 revolutions with starter.

Disconnect compression recorder from thread adapter (1)

Unscrew thread adapter (1) from spark plug bore of checked cylinder

 Screw-in fitting

Carry out checking procedure in the cylinder order on further cylinders in the same way

Compare measurements obtained with permissible pressures

Compression pressure, permissible difference between the cylinders
