Remove the expansion tank cover of the cooling system


In vehicles with engine OM471, the expansion tank should only be opened when the engine temperature is lower than 50 °C
Opening the tank at temperatures higher than 50 °C may lead to engine damage.

Put on full power the heating/air conditioning or automatic climate operating unit

Start the engine, bleed the cooling and heating assembly

Leave the engine running for about 1 minute with alternating speeds. While engine is running, the coolant level must be constantly monitored, if necessary, refill with coolant to the correct level.

Install the cover on the expansion tank of the cooling system
