If, after painting work, vehicles with 15 bar reservoir pressure in the air suspension circuit are dried completely in a drying chamber, the reservoir pressure in the air suspension circuit must be reduced to below 10 bar before the drying chamber is heated up. If the reservoir pressure is not reduced, the compressed air lines can slip off the drive-in fittings as a result of heat generation and the high pressure.
The reservoir pressure in the air suspension circuit is reduced by repeatedly raising and lowering the vehicle via the level control operating unit with the engine switched off.
Repeatedly depressing the brake pedal or actuating the parking brake valve will not reduce the reservoir pressure in the air suspension circuit.
If the painting work is to be performed by a third-party company, please also inform the company of this procedure.
