Function sequence

Unlocking from outside with key or from inside with door opening lever

1 Prerequisites:
Door closed and locked.

2 Unlocking operation initiated from outside with key in door lock (1) or from inside with door opening lever (2).

3 The mechanical unlocking procedure is recognized by the door catch switch (S74 and S75), a changeover switch on the locking motor (M11 or M12) in the door, and, on vehicles not equipped for transport of hazardous goods according to GGVS guidelines a corresponding signal is transferred to the ZV/KSA control module (A23).

4 The door catch switch signal causes the ZV/KSA control module
to actuate the locking motor (M11 or M12) and the interior lighting of the cab.
The locking motor in the driver's or passenger door moves
to the "unlocked" position and the interior lighting (entry lamps/interior lamps on driver's and passenger sides) is switched on for max. 10 s.

Only the door is unlocked, for which the unlocking procedure was initiated mechanically.

The interior lighting goes out immediately when the ignition is switched on within 10 s. However, it remains switched on for max. 5 minutes when one of the doors
is opened and not closed again.

On vehicles for transport of hazardous goods according
to GGVS guidelines the door is only unlocked mechanically. These vehicles have a battery separation switch which interrupts the entire power supply when the ignition is switched off. The locking motor therefore moves to the "unlocked" position only after the ignition is switched on.
