The circuit shows the connection of the charger with the vehicle control unit FMR/CPC (A-003), the starter motor (M-001), the drive switch (S-003), and control unit programmable logic device (PLD) (A-002) (16 pin connector).
There are inter-connectors X2.1 between the IC regulator and base module (A-001) and A3 CPC control unit and X2.2 between base module (A-001) and control unit FMR/CPC (A-003).
The three pins 1, 2 and 3 of the generator (G-002) 4 pin connector (G6) are connected to control unit CMR/CPC (A-003) pins 11, 13 and 3 respectively, in order to regulate the generator (G-002) speed. Control the warning lamp and connect the ignition switch and the fourth pin is connected to the control unit PLD (A- 002) through starter KL.30 (M1.1).
The function of the pins are as follows : |
Pin number | Description |
1 | Gives the generator (G-002) speed to the control unit FMR/CPC (A-003) for controlling the field excitation current to the rotor coil. |
2 | D+ signal gives the charging voltage to the control unit FMR/CPC (A-003). Basically it controls the lamp actuation signal. If there is a problem with the charging system wherein there is no output from the stator then the voltage generated at terminal 2 will be 0 V. Normally with all electrical off, the voltage should be same as the battery voltage. |
3 | The voltage is supplied from the drive switch (S-003). It generates the magnetic field in the rotor and passes through the IC regulator. The voltage regulator monitors the voltage coming out of the generator (G-002) and, when it reaches a limit, the regulator reduces the current in the rotor to weaken the magnetic field. When the voltage drops below the limit, the current to the rotor is increased. |
4 | Physical connection is there but it does not have any functionality associated with that particular wire. |
Battery reaching the fully charged state. The electromotive force becomes strong enough to oppose the current flow from the generator (G- 002) at the output terminal G6.1. When more electrical power is used, the electromotive force reduce and generator (G-002) amperage to be increase. This force (speed) is controlled through (W) control unit FMR/CPC (A-003).
