The Engine control unit (MR)(A6) is an ECU with specific tasks. This controls the fuel injection under various load conditions. This also maintains the operating temperature for the engine to emit less pollutant more fuel efficient. That is by receiving input signals from various sensors and actuating other components accordingly.

The operating condition of the Engine control unit (MR)(A6) is based on input signals from the following sensors:

Crankshaft position sensor(B15)

Camshaft position sensor (B16)

Charge air temperature and boost pressure combination sensor(B111)

Fuel temperature sensor(B10)

Coolant temperature sensor(B65)

Engine oil temperature sensor(B11)

Multiple CAN signals

Input information to Engine control unit (MR)(A6):

Since there are wide range of information which is transferred between every control units, Only the most important input informations are transferred via the Drive control unit (FR)(A3) to Engine control unit (MR)(A6) or from Engine control unit (MR) (A6) to the various other system.

Some are mentioned below:

Drive control (FR)(A3)

Parameterizable Special Module (PSM)

Output information from the engine control (MR)(A6):

The output information which is prepared by the Engine control unit (MR)(A6) is sent via Drive control (FR)(A3) to other electronics of the vehicle. This information is required for calculating the specified engine torque and for displaying various indicators in the instrument (INS).
