Inspect ease of operation and condition of throttle control

If necessary, grease all mechanically moved joints and bearing points.

Detach connecting rod (4) at throttle control lever (3)

Inspect CTP position

Spring retainer (7) at throttle control cable (2) must be resting against the compression spring (8) free of tension in the CTP position. Throttle control lever (3) is resting against the CTP stop of the bearing bracket of the throttle control (1), if necessary:

Adjust play of throttle control cable (2) by turning the adjusting nut (9) at the accelerator pedal in direction "A" or "B".

Direction of rotation "A"

Play of throttle control cable (2) at throttle control lever (3) is increased.

Direction of rotation "B"

Play of throttle control cable (2) at throttle control lever (3) is reduced.

Inspect WOT position; depress accelerator pedal (10) fully for this step

Do not operate kickdown switch (if automatic transmission fitted).

Throttle control lever (3) must be resting against WOT stop of the bearing bracket of the throttle control (1), if necessary:

Release retaining clip at accelerator pedal (10) and pull throttle control cable (2) back until the throttle control lever (3) is resting against the WOT stop of the bearing bracket of the control (1). After this, insert retaining clip again.

Minimum tooth overlap

Accelerator pedal - retaining clip: 2 teeth.

Attach connecting rod (4) at throttle control lever (3)

It must be possible to attach the connecting rod (4) free of stress, if necessary:

- Slacken clamping nut (6)

- Move throttle control lever (3) and adjusting lever of injection pump (5) into CTP position

- Tighten clamping nut (6) fully
