Remove/install

Drain coolant for cooling the electric motor.

Installation: Only install engine compartment lining after leak test.

Remove bumper (3).

Remove expansion rivets (5).

Remove screw/bolts (6).

Push trim (4) forward and remove from the integral carrier.

Remove trim (4) from the front bumper (3) toward the rear.

 Installation: Ensure that the trim (4) is seated correctly on the retaining tabs of the front bumper (3).

Remove engine stabilizer mount (8) from the axle drive module (9).

Secure vehicle on vehicle lift.

Support axle drive module (9) at suitable position and slightly tilt forwards.



 Tilting the axle drive module (9) improves accessibility to the connection fitting (1).

Remove coolant hose line (7) from the connection fitting (1).

 Collect escaping coolant.
Plug openings.

Remove screws (2).

Remove connection fitting (1) from the axle drive module (9) using a suitable tool.


Handle connection fitting (1) with care, do not twist.
Danger of breakage.

 Installation: Coat O-ring (10) of connection fitting (1) with lubricant.

 Plug openings.

Check

Check connection fitting (1) and O-ring (10) for damage.

If damage is detected



Replace connection fitting (1).

Install in the reverse order.
