Danger! | Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running | Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
1 | Warm up engine to normal operating temperature | Coolant temperature approx. 80° C
Check compression pressure with engine at operating temperature.
2 | Remove injection nozzles (2)
3 | Switch off fuel injection | Injection pump should not deliver fuel
4 | Crank engine with ignition/starter switch (1) | Crank the engine several times with ignition/starter switch (1) to remove combustion residues
5 | Connect compression recorder (7)
| |||
| |||
| Checking | ||
6 | Crank engine with ignition/starter switch (1) | at least 8 revolutions
7 | Inspect remaining cylinders in the same way
8 | Compare measurements with the specified values
If the specified values are not reached
Check for cylinder leakage and determine the cause
9 | Remove compression recorder (7)
10 | Install in the reverse order |
Check values for compression pressure
