 Warning

Injury hazard from pinching and crushing, in extreme cases extremities can even be cut off when caught in windshield wiper mechanism.

When working on the windshield wiper mechanism, always switch off the ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (at least 2 m).

Disconnect electrical connection (6).

Remove trim from the left and right A-pillar.

Remove front overhead control panel.

Lift front edge of roof lining and pull down wiring harness with electrical connectors of heated windshield (1).

Remove rubber between instrument panel and windshield (1).

Pull out electrical connectors of heated windshield (1) between windshield (1) and instrument panel.

Disconnect electrical connectors of heated windshield (1).

Remove both wiper arms.

Release sealing frame (2) at windshield (1) and remove.

Wear protective gloves and safety glasses.

Cut out windshield (1) using windshield removal tool and remove.

Remove adhesive residues in vehicle interior.

Install

Prepare windshield (1) for installation.

Use primer and cleaning material from "Glazing repair kit 500662 01/03/05/07/09/11".
Otherwise the adhesive force of the glue starts to decrease.


Model 906
Use primer and cleaning material from "Repair kit: Windshield glazing, 1­component adhesive".
Otherwise the adhesive force of the glue starts to decrease.

 Allow primer to air-dry for a minimum of 10 min.
Always replace frame seal (2).


One side window must be open.
Windshield (1) can otherwise be pressed outwards by the resulting air pressure when a vehicle door is closed during the curing time.
